La Oficina de Santiago ofrece toda la gama de servicios de ingeniería asociados al espesamiento y transporte de relaves espesados, desde los estudios conceptuales hasta el diseño de detalle y puesta en servicio, incluyendo un grupo de ingenieros y técnicos muy bien entrenados.

La capacidad de la oficina incluye un Laboratorio de Pruebas de Pulpa que incluye un viscosímetro rotacional, un viscosímetro tubular, unidades de sedimentación de laboratorio, un equipo de sedimentación semi-piloto, una unidad pequeña para pruebas de canaleta, y también instalaciones especializadas de Plantas Piloto.

Since 2005 the Santiago office has worked extensively on a wide range of tailings and high density thickened tailings disposal projects. They offer the full range of engineering services, from conceptual engineering to detailed design, as well as commissioning services. The office conducts small scale pipe loop tests, thickening tests, and rotational viscometer tests.

Ray Martinson

B.Eng (Civil), Technical Manager and Director

Ray is a Hydraulic Engineer with more than 35 years' professional experience in fluids and slurry transportation, mainly in mining projects. He has wide experience relating to the design of hydraulic transportation systems: design and implementation of conventional and thickened tailings systems, hydraulic and process design of overland systems, analysis and hydraulic modelling of non-Newtonian mixtures, design and specification of pumping systems, evaluation of SX plant solutions transportation systems, design and review of raffinate and SX-EW solutions pumping circuits. Ray is currently Director and Technical Manager at Paterson & Cooke Chile, based in Santiago.

Carlos Salinas

B.Eng (Civil), Principal – Managing Principal and Director

Carlos Salinas is Civil Engineer with 19 years' professional experience in mining and infrastructure projects, with specialisation in slurry transportation. Carlos has experience with projects in Chile and Peru, including water transportation, long distance pipelines, paste, thickened and conventional tailings operations. Carlos is Director and the Managing Principal in Paterson & Cooke Chile’s practice based in Santiago.

B.Eng (Civil), Process Manager and Director

David is a civil engineer with more than 20 years experience in industrial and mining projects. He has worked in project construction stages, led a materials laboratory at the University of Chile and has developed project tailings engineering and consulting with Paterson & Cooke. He has specialized in tailings dewatering and hydraulic transportation. David is the Process and Laboratory Manager, and a Director of Paterson & Cooke Chile. He has led tailings engineering projects, thickening audits, optimization projects and slurry characterization campaigns for the biggest mining companies in Chile and South America.
