Tiago is a chartered Civil, Structural, and Mechanical Engineer with a solid academic background and extensive industry experience as a designer, manager, researcher, and consultant.

He has worked on a wide variety of international projects, including the design and detailing of steel, reinforced and prestressed concrete, timber, aluminium, and masonry structures, bridges, scaffolding systems, construction equipment, cranes, offshore structures, cable and membrane structures, geotechnical studies and foundation design, retrofitting, strengthening, technical support, field supervision, and forensic engineering. Tiago's scope of work ranges from conceptual work through to detailed design and construction.

Tiago joined Paterson & Cooke UK in January 2024, having worked with the company since 2020 and with more than 15 years of experience in structures for the mining industry. He also sits on several of Eurocode's technical committees, the Ethics Council of the Portuguese Institution of Engineers, and is an invited lecturer at Portuguese Universities and an invited expert at the Portuguese Public Prosecution.
