Jack Emerton

Managing Director

(BEng Civil Engineering)

Jack joined Paterson & Cooke’s Australian practice in 2019, overseeing the practice’s civil/structural offering and was project manager on several detailed design slurry pipeline projects. In November 2021, he took on the role of Managing Director of the Australian practice during which time the practice has grown and successfully delivered a range of slurry transport and backfill projects across the Southeast Asia and Oceania region.

Jack began his professional career working as a civil/structural engineer for Arup in Durban, South Africa, designing and managing projects in the resource, commercial and industrial fields.

In 2013 he took an opportunity to become a partner and MD of a development and construction company in Northern Mozambique. This unique opportunity in an undeveloped market provided a wealth of experience and lessons and he delivered two successful developments over the course of three and a half years.
In 2016 Jack moved to Australia to work for Arup again as a senior civil/structural engineer where he built on his civil/structural design knowledge and managed several projects fronting multi-disciplinary teams.

Jack is a motivated and self-driven leader who empowers his team to work out what and how they can best contribute to achieve a common goal, whilst upholding P&C’s core values and vision.
