Pipeline Systems
Pipeline system design and engineering is a major component of our work. We have designed numerous pipeline
systems around the world, including water supply pipelines,
process water pipelines, in-plant slurry pipelines, tailings pipelines and long distance overland pipelines.
Pipeline System Designs Include:
- Hydraulic design, including steady state and analysis transient.
- Process design, including selection of appropriate pumps, valves and control systems.
- Mechanical design, including detailed pipe stress analysis, design of pipe supports, pipe material selection and detailed equipment specifications.
- Detailed design of slurry preparation process equipment, tanks and pump stations.
- Project cost estimation, including construction costs.
Long Distance Slurry Pipelines
Paterson & Cooke have completed numerous bankable feasibility studies for long distance pipelines. These include phosphate pipelines, iron ore and magnetite pipelines and copper and gold concentrate pipelines.
Long distance pipelines require special hydraulic analysis and design tools not normally associated with short distance pipelines, and we have these facilities in-house. Through our alliance partners we are able to offer the full range of design services for long distance pipelines, from the initial route surveys to detailed design, engineering and commissioning.
