Job Description

The person employed as IT Systems Administrator will join the global Paterson & Cooke IT team and have the responsibility of maintaining or establishing an IT network infrastructure suitable to efficiently support the company needs and of assisting users on various hardware\software related issues. This position provides support to all employees in Denver and remotely to other offices within North America; common sense and professionalism is required

  • Assist with the IT infrastructure planning, support and implementation
  • Day to day desktop (hardware and software), server, printer and network support and maintenance
  • Respond to all logged support requests enthusiastically and professionally, with a strong focus on a high-quality end user experience
  • Data backup and archiving as needed and assist with recovery, using backup or recovery tools
  • Procurement and installation of network or desktop hardware and software based on company needs and requirements
  • Take a proactive approach in monitoring and maintenance of all our IT services
  • Maintain current and develop new IT documentation
  • Liaison with external IT support companies and internet service providers
  • Assist in implementing improvements to existing or new IT services through completion of IT Projects.
  • Contribute as part of the administrative support team to ensure a professional office environment and the successful completion of client projects
  • On-going learning, training and development to be up to date with new IT technology
  • Respond to, and action, all assigned tasks to the quality and service level outlined in our IT service framework.


Education & Experience
  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Completed at least 1 year in formal IT studies and have Microsoft certification (MCSE or MCITP)
  • Relevant experience of 5 years in an office environment or 2 years with an IT degree
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0+
  • Able to work in Golden, Colorado
  • Able to communicate well in English, verbally and in writing
Knowledge & Skills
  • Working experience of administrating and supporting Microsoft Windows 10 and Office 365
  • Working experience administering and supporting SharePoint Online team sites
  • Working knowledge of Skype for Business, OneDrive & Yammer
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office 2016 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Knowledge or experience of Active Directory and Microsoft servers including DNS and DHCP roles (2008r2, 2012, 2016)
  • Knowledge and experience of SharePoint, SQL, Exchange and Linux are beneficial
  • Advantageous – working knowledge of Autodesk products
  • Must have a strong work ethic, organizational skills, the desire to learn and be unafraid to ask questions
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
Working Conditions
  • Most duties performed in usual office conditions with standard office equipment, computer, copier, and phone
  • Use of computer terminal requiring frequent mental and visual attention; and able to lift\carry ~50 lbs servers\power supply
